Dutch Monitoring data on butterflies, moths and dragonflies is principally available for research and conservation. All requests for access to Data or Derived Data will require a signed license agreement.
- The requestor (e.g. leading author or author team of the scientific paper or any other output) is responsible for involving representatives of Dutch Butterfly Conservation (De Vlinderstichting) and Statistics Netherland (CBS) in the use of their data in a scientific paper or other output. This should include regular updates on progress of analyses. Involving these representatives at a late stage of paper submission is to be avoided.
- Representatives of Dutch Butterfly Conservation will be able to agree or not to the request. Where agreement is given, and data supplied, they will be offered co-authorship. The detailed process for involvement will be documented as part of agreeing the data license, including planned authorship requirements.
- Co-authors will be informed of the submission and revision process by the leading author, so that they can also comment on revised versions of the manuscript and remain fully informed of progress.
- Leading authors or author teams have a duty to report the realized use of the data in publications to Dutch Butterfly Conservation.
- Leading authors or author teams have a duty to acknowledge the monitoring networks (Dutch Butterfly/Moth/Dragonfly Monitoring Scheme) as well as Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and the Network Ecological Monitoring (NEM) in all publicity, publications and articles concerned with the use of data supplied.
